Anonymous: Part of the initial hate over Elementary was simply the fact that Watson was a woman. Going with what the previous anon was saying, it's called fetishizing homosexuality. It's not good unless there's two men that they can force together for their 'kawaii yaois'. And it's not healthy.

Fandom treating gay characters like a fetish is one of the reasons I am careful around new fandoms. It just makes me really uncomfortable to know that people think gay people are only there for their viewing pleasure. I’m continually calling out people on their behavior. As a gay woman I don’t have time to deal with people “supporting” and “accepting” me in the ways fandoms do with gay characters.
